Con questo lavoro il gruppo si allontana sempre più dal funky soul degli esordi per avvicinarsi ad un pop molto ricercato che ha fatto storcere il naso ai puristi. Onestamente il disco è meno ricco di energia dei precedenti ma i suoni sono molto raffinati, creati da autori e musicisti di spicco della scena westcoastiana, come Bill Champlin, Ned Doheny e David Foster, quest'ultimo anche produttore del disco. Bellissimi i pezzi lenti come "If love only last for one night" e "For you, for love", notevoli i medio-tempo come "Whatcha' gonna do for me", diventata poi famosa nella versione di Chaka Khan, e la title-track che chiude l'album. Molto piacevoli anche gli episodi più ritmati, come "Our time has gone", "Let's go round again" ed "Help is on the way", che sono quelli che maggiormente possono ancora richiamare alla musica nera. Da segnalare che nella ristampa in cd giapponese è contenuta "Miss sun", pezzo scritto da David Paich ed originariamente cantato da Boz Scaggs. Nel complesso perciò un eccellente ed indispensabile lavoro di pop-soul westcoastiano con sempre presenti le classiche influenze funky della band.
