Destiny (Warner Bros. 1986)

     Visto il grande successo ottenuto da "I Feel for You"(84), la stessa formula viene ritentata per il nuovo album di Chaka Khan che esce nel 1986. Ogni brano di "Destiny" viene infatti inciso sotto un diverso produttore con un utilizzo quasi totale dell'elettronica. Tutto questo però non ottiene i risultati sperati e il disco risulta una delusione musicalmente ed un vero fiasco nelle vendite. L'album non contiene nessun brano trascinante e non possiede quelle rare perle che erano almeno presenti nel lavoro precedente. Neanche autori di rilievo come Richard Page, Steve George, Randy Goodrum e Mike Piccirillo riescono a creare qualche melodia decente in modo da sollevare il disco dalla mediocrità. Il sound é dominato dai sintetizzatori ed onestamente é quasi impossibile consigliare l'acquisto di questo lavoro, che é probabilmente tra le cose meno riuscite incise dall'artista.
