Makings of a Dream (Warner Bros. 1977)

     Il secondo lavoro dei Crackin' nasce dopo vari cambiamenti rispetto al lavoro del 1975. Il gruppo passa infatti dalla Polydor alla Warner Bros. e la produzione viene affidata all'ottimo Russ Titelman. Da notare anche l'entrata nella band del batterista Peter Bunetta. La musica, pur mantenendosi sullo stile dell'album precedente, si ammorbidisce, divenendo più ricercata negli arrangiamenti e anche nell'utilizzo delle voci. I brani sono tutti di buon livello, alternando pezzi sostenuti come "Fell alright" e "Well and good" a composizioni più soft, come la bella "Who you want me to be", sempre però in stretto legame con la musica nera.
