Some Things Don't Come Easy (Big Tree 1978)

     Englan Dan & John Ford Coley continuano sulla loro strada, presentando un nuovo lavoro di pop melodico, anche se questa volta l'album si presenta decisamente meglio del precedente "Dowdy Ferry Road"(. Troviamo infatti brani pił ricchi musicalmente, meglio costruiti, ed anche melodie meno scontate del solito. Gli episodi piacevoli all'interno del disco sono pił di uno, a cominciare dalla notevole ballata "Who's lonely now", per proseguire con pezzi pił ritmati come "You can't dance" e con buoni esempi di classico cantautorato americano in "Calling for you again", "If the world ran out tonight" e nella bella title-track. Nel disco sono anche presenti anche alcune cadute di tono, ma nel complesso é un lavoro pił che discreto e, nei suoi limiti di sound molto melodico, si ascolta con piacere.
