Family Ties (ABC 1977)

     La squadra che aveva contribuito al fenomenale album d'esordio dei Faragher viene in parte modificata. Non c'é più il produttore Vini Poncia, sostituito da due nomi pressoché sconosciuti, mentre vengono chiamati a rinforzare il sound noti musicisti dell'area di Los Angeles come Jay Graydon, Mike Baird e Ben Benay. Il risultato é un ottimo lavoro, anche se orientato maggiormente verso il pop californiano, con brani ritmati ricchi di chitarre più che di fiati. La componente soul della musica del gruppo rimane comunque in evidenza, dando vita ad eccellenti brani, tutti abbastanza movimentati, come "Thanks a lot", "You're making a good-bye bad" e "Life is love",  anche se il capolavoro dell'album é la splendida ballata "Follow my heart", con un ritornello ed un uso delle voci che non si possono dimenticare. Album validissimo da acquistare insieme al primo lavoro del gruppo, lasciando invece perdere i due dischi successivi.
