The Allnighter (MCA 1984)

     Per commentare questo disco di Glenn Frey basterebbe andare a rileggere quello scritto per il precedente "No Fun Aloud" del 1982, perché sembra la sua copia carbone. Anche qui abbiamo la presenza di qualche brano discreto, sempre firmato dall'artista in coppia con Jack Tempchin, come l'appena ritmata "Sexy girl", e le ballatone "I got love" e "Let's go home", ma non servono a sollevare l'album da una risicata sufficienza. Frey sembra non riuscire ad andare oltre questo rock melodico povero di idee, forse elegante ma sicuramente poco originale, scegliendo nello stesso anno di cantare anche "The heat is on", scritto da Keith Forsey e Harold Faltermeyer, brano sinth-pop inserito nella colonna sonora di "Beverly Hills Cop".
